Cancellation and Refunds

I can't use my ticket. Can I get my money back? Will fees be charged?

Individual tickets may always be returned up to one day before they become valid.

Season tickets may also be returned during their period of validity. Partial refunds will be made, i.e. only for the period during which the ticket is no longer being used.

The company may charge a reasonable fee for processing ticket returns. The company may not charge any fees if it is at fault, e.g. in the event of train cancellation, and the ticket can no longer be used within the period of validity.

The legal basis is Paragraph 9 of the Eisenbahnbeförderungsgesetz (EisbBFG – Railway Transport Act).
